OUTSIDE OF NORMAL, BUT BRAVE AF!

Okay, in spite of a crippling fear of water, thanks to my Dad’s throwing me in a lake to ‘teach me how to swim’ when I was a kid (I did not learn; I did not float; I kept plummeting to the bottom…), I’m finally FINALLY going to learn to swim.  Because it’s my year of COURAGE and I’m going to be brave as fuck.

Just called and set up the lessons for June 12-23 and I’m hyperventilating just from the phone call (with the “head of aquatics” who sounded 12), but here we go.

So: Wanna help?  Do something brave with me!!!  We can do it.  Or, I’ll drown a horrible, watery death and be the first person ever to die on our neighborhood rec center pool.  Either way, I won’t be afraid of the water ever again!!

I love that you are l ing brave and learning to swim.
I am learning to be brave by using walking poles to walk. I have been experiencing debilitating vertigo and nausea and am in the worst physical shape of my life.
I love your quest to Live Brave sooo Here I go, week 3, achieving approx, 15-20 blocks of slow walking.
The Goal is to be able to walk around without thoughts of being dizzy and falling down or having nausea overwhelm me.
